The Coat Closet
A new building downtown had my work on display for their grand opening. Unbeknownst to the art consultant, the conference room in which the work was placed, had been turned into a coat room—with coats covering the artwork. She was mortified, but we laughed. I painted this piece and sent it to her. The lesson: don’t take yourself too seriously. Something usually happens to keep us all humble.
